The SHIELD initiative is designed to address the exponential growth of cyber-threats by providing a robust digital self-learning platform. By focusing on the protection of information systems’ Availability, Integrity, and Confidentiality (AIC), this hub acts as a frontline defense for both public and private organizations. Through an embedded AI that automatically assesses user levels, from beginner to expert-referent, SHIELD ensures that the European workforce is equipped with the necessary skills to disseminate best practices and strengthen digital resilience across the continent.
Developing a Leading European Platform for Cybersecurity Self-Learning and Skills Assessment
Field: Cybersecurity, Trustworthy AI, Digital Metrology
Project Vision
The rapid and continuous growth of cyber-threats demands large-scale upskilling across both public and private organizations. The SHIELD project aims to address this by developing a digital self-learning platform. This tool will enable users to gain a deep understanding of how attacks exploit vulnerabilities to compromise the Availability, Integrity, and Confidentiality (AIC) of information systems.
We are seeking partners to collaborate on a platform that integrates cutting-edge pedagogical and technical methodologies:
- Progressive Learning Scenarios: The platform will offer approximately thirty scenarios of the most common attacks. These are presented through progressive modules, ranging from beginner to advanced levels.
- Embedded Trustworthy AI: An integrated AI will adapt content to specific user profiles. It automatically assesses the user’s level—from beginner to “expert-referent”—capable of disseminating best practices within their organization.
- Digital Metrology Integration: The project stands out by incorporating digital metrology principles to ensure the quality, traceability, and integrity of all data used.
- Regulatory Alignment: The approach aligns with European AI Act requirements regarding accuracy, stability, and cybersecurity to ensure trust in all generated results.
- Organizational Mapping: For partner organizations, the tool generates a cyber-skills map to identify internal disparities and guide continuous training strategies.
Partner Profiles Sought: we are looking for European organizations with expertise in the following areas:
- Cybersecurity Specialists: To provide updated monitoring of major vulnerabilities and design realistic attack scenarios.
- AI & Data Science Developers: To implement the embedded AI responsible for profile adaptation and automated assessment.
- Metrological Methodologists: To help define rigorous metrics for skill assessment and guarantee the robustness of the platform.
- Security Infrastructure Providers: To ensure the platform incorporates advanced protection mechanisms and secure continuous updates.
The consortium will work to strengthen European digital resilience by combining high-level pedagogy with trustworthy AI. The final platform will be accessible on mobile and all digital devices, ensuring that cybersecurity education is rigorous, transparent, and robust.
